A Valentine with the real thing on it. The Heart is a two-colour heirloom blanket worked in overlay mosaic crochet, shown here in deep red on cream: an anatomical heart with roses growing out of it.
A human heart sits at the centre of the card, drawn the way an anatomy book draws it, with its chambers, its great vessels and the veins running down its sides. Three roses in full bloom rise from the top of it on leafy stems. The name THE HEART is set in a banner at the bottom, and a border with stepped corners frames the whole design.
