HOW IT IS WORKED

This is tapestry crochet, not mosaic. Three colors, worked flat on the right side only — you never turn your work. Most rows are a single color from edge to edge; 91 of the 301 rows change color partway, and the written instructions tell you exactly where with a plain "switch to A", "switch to B" or "switch to C". The resting yarn is carried along the top of the previous row and crocheted over, so there are no long floats and barely any ends to weave in at the finish.

If you have done a two-color mosaic blanket, this is the next step up. The chart itself is forgiving — big solid blocks of color, long runs, nothing fiddly — but you are managing two yarns at once through the middle third of the blanket.

COLORS

Black, torch gold and hot pink — the cover's own three, and the chart is built around them. You need roughly 1,765–1,951 yards of the black, 1,622–1,792 of the gold, and 385–425 of the pink in worsted.

You can substitute colors, but keep the two main yarns far apart in contrast/lightness, or the lettering will stop reading clearly.
